News of the Week

Congratulations to our 8th Grade students.
Our students were one of only two schools to correctly answer the week two question of the NASA Challenge.
The NASA challenge "Exploration through Navigation." is a program to connect students in grades 5 - 8 throughout the world to NASA's Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite Mission. Part I of the mission focuses on ocean navigation and Part II focuses on space navigation. Students prepare an answer each week to different challenges.
Our 8th graders, along with one school in California, received recognition for correctly answering the week two question.
This is a year long project that our 8th grade Science Skills class is working on throughout the year. At the end of the Challenge, students will be asked to compare and contrast methods of navigating on Earth (at Sea) and in space.
